Bolz Bolz is a legend when it comes to electro and has released records under different monikers on labels like Ersatz Audio, Feis, Satamile Records NYC and his own World Electric. Starting in the early nineties, he developed his style out of his various influences from the electronic seventies (Cluster, Can, Kraftwerk, Popul Vuh, Steve Reich, Stockhausen) fusing it with electronic dance music elements from today. We are really excited to have him for the first time at Krautok!
From the farthest reaches of Kawasaki, Japan, composer and live artist Ikuo Koyama got his start in the Tokyo club scene through various collaborations with local DJs and music producers. Years later in London, he pursued his music destiny, taking things to a much funkier level, and then brought all of this with him and his gear to Berlin, where he continued on his path as a Logic/Live master/slave and self-professed otaku (would it be fair to say “supergeek”? We don’t know!) We’re excited to present Ikuo live so come and check out his totally unique sound at Krautok 2011! At Krautok 2009 he played a fabulous set with his band Apotheke (see video below), this year he will present his new solo-set and jam in various constellations.
Khan pays tribut to life’s ever-changing richness. Smash TV consists of two people: Holger Zilske and Kai Preussner. For Holger and Kai, music is not just about the dancefloor, it’s a way of life and a means of communication on a deep emotional level. This becomes apparent on their latest releases “Baby got me open” on the “Full body workout vol. 7“ on Get Physical ,the remix of the m.a.n.d.y & matthew dear track “buddies” out on Get Physical in early 2011 and the “World Wide Wet”-ep on Leena out in march 2011 as well as their live- & dj-sets, which achieved them the reputation of being the “last men standing”.
Since discovering an early variety of ringtone-dub on his Commodore 64 in 1982 Anton Waldt was trapped in electronic music ever since. Waldt has been part of the Toktok-Crew for most of the 90ties until Nerk and Feyerabendt found out that he is a no-brainer and kicked him out. 2006 Anton Waldt suddenly was back on the scene playing ringtone-dub on a single XBase and had further training at the following Krautoks.
Feed walks the line. Feed is the famous office opussum at De:Bug magazine. Since Mitte Karaoke split Feed was playing solo live acts until he discovered his new dream partner at last year´s Krautok. Will this year see another Waldt-goes-drumcrazy-to-Feeds-Drums-and-Blimps?
Autotune is the techno-boy-group with house-appeal, that acts like the T-1000 killerbot in “Terminator 2″: Formed by Adel Dior and Fabian Feyerabendt the project exploded, after a harsh conflict about the house-cleaning. In came Jan-Eric Scholz, Autotune is complete again and ready to rumble big time: many releases on labels such aus BPitch Control, Force Tracks, Fumakilla and others illustrate their way of creating deep and funky tracks.
Autotune live at RTS.FM:
Stefan Küchenmeister made his mark as DJ in the midnineties, both in his hometown Kassel as an Aufschwung Ost/Stammheim-resident and in Berlin-clubs like Tresor, Suicide or Electric Ballroom. Since 1999 Küchenmeister mainly published as producer for the Toktok-universe [V-Records, Zokzok, Toktok-Records], complementing with EPs and released on the label Hörspielmusik [Stammheim surrounding]. On the wheels of steel Küchenmeister is meanwhile well known from Russia to Japan, but he is also a wizard when it comes to knob twiddling. His last album was Anti Age on Bomzh / Toktok Records.
Snax musical career began at the age of 5 when he formed his first band with his older brother called “J.P and the writers”. Afterwards Snax left Maryland/DC, went to San Francisco, moved to New York, switched to Berlin, was half of “Bedroom Productions” and “Captain Comatose”, keyboarder for Foetus and then started a solo-thing. Since Snax was always very influenced by the dynamic live music of Washington D.C.ʼs Go-Go scene, its no surprise that his shows are a mixture of provocation, sleaze and fun. He casts himself as prime minister of what has been dubbed by one French review as “Fist-Funk.” Using his body, rhythm and soul, Snax is a natural born performer, challenging his audience to interact with him completely. This year at Krautok, he will perform together with Lorenz Rhode.
